Understanding E-Design: A Comprehensive Guide to Digital Interior Design
Traditionally, interior design services have taken place in person with face-to-face meetings, physical samples, and in-person walkthroughs. Technology has transformed this process, making it possible to create beautiful, functional designs online.

What Is E-Design?
E-design, or electronic design, is a virtual interior design service that takes place through email and virtual meetings. E-design is a great way to learn what it is like to work with a designer. The cost is less as you, the client, are responsible for ordering and installing the elements of the design.
How E-Design Works
The first step when working with Farber Home Design is always the discovery call. This is a short 15-minute phone conversation about your project, budget, and completion timeline. I will make suggestions on which service will fit you best.
The next step is the consultation. For e-design, this is done virtually. We talk more in-depth about your project, and I get to see the space. I make suggestions about style, colors, and the layout of the space.
Moving forward, I ask for detailed measurements of your space and inspirational photos. Using the information from the consultation and the inspiration photos, I develop a mood board. This board includes some inspiration photos, color ideas, and a few pieces of furniture. We go over this board virtually to make sure we are on the same page before I commiting to the full design.
Next is the design phase. I create a design for your space. I pick out paint colors, furniture, art, and accessories. We will meet virtually to go over the design I created. There will be a design board, a floor plan, and a 3-D rendering of the space. There is a product list of every item I have recommended for the space, with pricing and a “shop it” button.
When you are satisfied with the design, it is up to you to implement it. I include a guide to getting your project started and the experts you should hire (painters, plumbers, electricians, etc.) If you have questions along the way, I offer email support for up to three months after handing off your design.
